Dr. Nirmaljeet Singh Kalsi, Former Addl. Chief Secretary
Before joining IAS in 1984 (Punjab cadre), he served in Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers (IRSEE) (1982-84) and National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) (1981-82). Dr. Kalsi was working as Joint Secretary to Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs at New Delhi.

ITBP, SSB, Assam Rifles and NSG. He is also responsible for Cyber Security and Information Security as Chief Information Security Officer, MHA and various projects related to Information & Communication Technology. In his 30 years career as a civil servant, he has handled a variety of challenging assignments in the areas of Information Technology, Technical Education and Industrial Training, Science and Technology, Industries, Employment and Vocational Training, etc. besides the assignments as Deputy Commissioner, District Magistrate, ADM and SDM etc. in Punjab. He handled the issues like change management, administrative reforms and process reengineering with a citizen oriented thinking.
