Who We Are ?
Global Counter Terrorism Council is a registered Non profit Think Tank initiated by public spirited individuals to awaken further issues of national interest and global conscience about terrorism as a threat to humanity, human security, global peace etc. Members of different faculties and background like former senior bureaucrats, academicians, former officers from the arm forces and paramilitary services, distinguished former diplomats, leading researcher, media analysts, parliamentarians, human rights leaders etc. provide support and regularly contribute with the aim to deliberate on the root causes of Global Terrorism and to present effective solutions to the problems faced by society and the government.

The Global Counter Terrorism Council (GCTC) a not for profit civil society think tank is pleased to share a proud moment for the Global Icon Award 2026, where Mr. Aditya Tikoo, Convener, GCTC, was recognised for his contribution and leadership.
The recognition comes at a particularly significant juncture as GCTC enters its 10th year of institution-building, strategic engagement and public-policy dialogue.
Over the past decade, GCTC has worked to create credible platforms connecting policymakers, members of the Armed Forces, diplomats, judiciary, academia, industry, strategic experts, technologists, researchers and young professionals for substantive conversations on issues shaping India and the world.
From national security, counter-terrorism and defence to geopolitics, diplomacy, emerging technologies, cybersecurity, energy security, governance and public policy, our endeavour has been guided by a simple objective: to create meaningful dialogue that contributes to informed policymaking and India’s national interests.
This recognition is therefore not merely about an individual. It represents the collective journey of the GCTC family — our members, Patrons, Executive Board Members, advisors, fellows, colleagues, researchers, interns, volunteers, institutional partners, speakers and well-wishers who have contributed to building GCTC over the years.
