Global Counter Terrorism Council is a registered non-profit, non-partisan international think tank initiated by public spirited individuals to awaken further issues of national interest and global conscience about terrorism as a threat to humanity, human security and global peace. Members from diverse backgrounds like former senior bureaucrats, academicians, former officers from the armed forces and paramilitary services, distinguished former diplomats, leading researchers, media analysts, parliamentarians, human right leaders etc. provide support and regularly contribute to the work of the council, with the aim to deliberate on the root causes of global terrorism and to present effective solutions to the problems faced by society and the government.
Our Objectives
- Research and analysis of the varied dimensions of India's national security covering aspects of both external and internal security, such as maritime security, border security, aviation security, illegal migration, narcotic smuggling, human trafficking, left wing extremism, counter terrorism and counter insurgency measures, and providing constructive inputs for policy formulations.
- Research and analysis on matters relating to various aspects of human security, focus on vulnerable areas to suggest suitable solutions in the formation of a comprehensive human security strategy at the highest level.
- Research and analysis on international relations, and geopolitical factors of strategic significance with a view to advising different confidence building measures to promote diplomacy and international cooperation among the comity of nations in order to achieve global peace and a stable security environment.
- Research and analysis on matters of public policy and governance, which have a bearing on the national and global security landscape.
- Identify vulnerable areas and suggest countermeasures in the formation of a National Security Strategy for the region
- Avareness generation, initiating public discourse and debate on the above themes to maintain and protect nations from the evolving threats of terrorism.
- Initiate, organize and facilitate study courses, conferences, round tables and seminars for any of the foregoing purposes.
- Associate, collaborate and partner with government ministries, departments, educational institutions, civil society organisations, and other global policy and research institutions working on similar goals and targets.
